Any society that refuses to recognise the Laws of Allah [SWT] will erase the notion of morality and champion the evils of immorality.  Humility, modesty and honour have no place in such places (i.e. the western society).  Those that reside in such environments are exposed to ills such as drugs, gambling, alcohol, fornication, adultery etc.

Immoral practices are the means to failure in this world, and the end result in the afterlife will be a severe punishment.  From the evil immoral practices the most rampant and highly decorated in society are fornication and adultery.  Many films, soaps, magazines etc. are dedicated towards endorsing and promoting these evil practices.

According to the Law’s of Allah [Shariyah] committing such acts are from the major sins.  Not only are these acts forbidden, but also all the means that leads to fornication and adultery are forbidden.

Allah [SWT] said,

“And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fâhishah [i.e. anything that transgresses its limits (a great sin)], & an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allâh forgives him).” [EMQ 17:32]

With this verse of the Quran, Allah [SWT] not only forbade these evil acts but also blocked every possible avenue that leads to it. Explaining the paths that lead to adultery the Messenger of Allah Muhammad [Peace and Blessings be upon him] said,

“The adultery of the eyes is evil looks. The adultery of the feet is to walk towards the sin.  The adultery of the tongue is lustful talk.  The adultery of the heart is the evil desire & in the end the private parts testify all this or deny it.” Reported in Bukhari.

Muhammad [Peace and Blessings be upon him] also said,

“The hands also commit adultery, their adultery is touching; the feet also commit adultery, their adultery is walking towards adultery, the mouth also commits adultery, its adultery is kissing.” Reported in Muslim & Abu Dawood.

A study of Western society shows that people are always invited to look at, advance towards, speak about and desire to fornicate. Adultery and fornication has been glamorised and made fashionable by corrupt celebrities.  Even the terms have been replaced to make fornication and adultery acceptable, words like ‘affair’, ‘creeping’, ‘one night stand’, ‘player’ etc are well established to beautify fornication.

Many marriages, families, friendships and homes have been torn apart and destroyed because of fornication and adultery.  Unfortunately, it is the very same politicians that call for family preservation and unity, that have legalised the corruption broadcast on television and other media outlets.

Unlike the Western society, in an Islamic society, Allah [SWT] has prescribed severe punishment for those that commit the crime of fornication or adultery.  The messenger of Allah [Peace and Blessings be upon him] said,

“When an unmarried male commits adultery with an unmarried female they should receive one hundred lashes and exile for one year, and in [the] case of [a] married male committing adultery with a married female, they should be stoned to death.” Reported in Muslim.

The punishment is not only restricted to this life but Allah [SWT] has warned harsh punishment in the afterlife, for He [SWT] said,

“And those who invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, nor kill such life as Allâh has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace” [EMQ 25:68-69]

In the western society the perpetrator of fornication or adultery is looked up to & respected, but in Islam he is deemed criminal.  The prophet of Allah linked such vile acts with the absence of faith, he [Peace & Blessings be upon him] said,

“A person who commits adultery  does not commit it in the state of Iman (belief).  A person who drinks alcohol does not drink it in the state of Iman.” Reported in Bukhari.

Those that abstain from fornication & adultery have been praised by the messenger of Allah, and given the glad tidings of paradise, the prophet [Peace and Blessings be upon him] said,

“Whoever gives me the guarantee of safeguarding his tongue and his private parts, I give him the guarantee of Paradise.” Reported in Bukhari.

Very few living in a society that is naked of humility and morality can maintain this level of piety and abstain from these evil acts.  The Shari'ah of Islam recognises that not all are God-fearing hence in the Islamic society [i.e. the Khilafah] anything that promotes these activities will banned be it T.V, radio, internet, magazines etc. As for those that promote fornication and adultery they will be arrested and punished according to the Law’s of Allah.

The responsibility of Muslims that reside in such foul societies is the following:

1) To preserve our humility and keep distance from anything that leads towards fornication and adultery.

2) To culture the people about the evils of fornication and adultery, and explain that these perverse ways are the rotten fruits of a society that fails to recognise the Legislative authority of Allah, i.e.  a democratic society.

3) To expose those that promote these evils and more specifically those that legalise it [i.e. the Law makers (MP’s)].

4) To change society from its Democratic foundations to Islamic foundation, where the Shari'ah of Islam is implemented [i.e. to  establish the Khilafah in UK].
